Multiple Sclerosis is a deadly disease  which  progression is only controlled and not cured.  Many countries  where people are affected with the disease is  Britain, North America, Canada, Scandinavia, Southern Australia and New Zealand part of Malaysia and Equador.

People people with ms are between the ages 20 to 40 are affected with the MS. There are many symptoms but relatively unnoticeable when experienced, because  the signs are almost the same to  flu which  is treated lighly like a common viral infections. Colds/associated with cough. Until such time that the feeling of being sick has been in a long period of time affecting the person. If this is a simple flu it is done and gone in 3 to 5 days.

To be definite, MS is disease of the nerves, where the central nervous system , the brain and spinal cord gets deteriorated. The electrical impulses that travel along the nerves decelerate and soon become slower, the nerves are damaged until more and more nerves are damaged, affecting the speech, vision, walking , memory.

MS is caused by an attack of the immune system on the tissues that supposedly be protecting the immune system itself. But it is blinded seeing  the  myelin  which is the protective substance to be an intruder.  It is known that the MS is the disease of  autoimmunity. Damaged myelin forms a scar and forms plaques.

Statistics suggest that genetic factors play a role in the development of MS in a patient. But the environmental factors has the most important role too.

Exacerbation of MS- is a kind of clinical manifestations of MS. When attack occurs the patient experienced sudden deterioration of physical abilities from mild to severe.

RR-MS- Relapsing-remitting, is when the patient experience a series of attack followed by partial until complete disappearance of the symptoms

PP-MS- Primary progressive, this is an attack when there is a gradual decline in a patient  physical abilities continuously. To some people with MS disease this is the initial attack that  happen to an individual. Initial stage is not easy to diagnose what kind of disease  the person has. Only after series of attacks happen  that the doctor can diagnose the disease.

SP –MS  Secondary Progressive – when the individual suffers more severe and progress in the deterioration of the physical abilities usually accompanied by a sporadic attack.

Rare case of extreme rapid progression is fatal  and  malignant.

Obviously the following physical disorder is seen among the patient, attention deficits, less concentration, inability to perform the usual task, impaired judgement,  manic depression, uncontrolled emotions, anger and laughter, sexual dysfunction or less bowel and bladder control.

Various medications are use to manage the MS disease and its complications, however after the drug medications, Ampyra or known as  Dalfampridine  has been approved by the FDA for  treatment of asymptomatic MS.  While non drug therapies  has become an  alternative to some.
